Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Entertain mobile application (“Entertain”, “the app”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles your information.

Entertain is a personal app for organising domestic events: it helps you plan menus, manage ingredients, and prepare shopping lists for the suppliers you work with.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What information we collect

Entertain is designed to be minimal. We only collect what is necessary to make the app work.

2.1 Information you provide

You provide the following information by entering it into the app:

Event information: event names, dates, types (seated, buffet, other), number of guests.
Catalog information: dish names, descriptions, preparation notes, ingredients, quantities, units.
Supplier configuration: supplier category labels, supplier names (if you choose to record them), phone numbers, email addresses, preferred messaging channel.
Message templates: greeting and signature text for supplier messages.

This information is stored under an anonymous user account automatically created on first launch. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, address, age, or any other personal identifier when you start using the app.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Anonymous user identifier: when you first open the app, a random identifier is generated to associate your data with your device. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any other personally identifiable information.
Technical operational data: basic technical information needed to keep the app functioning (database connection metadata, request timestamps). No analytics, tracking, advertising identifiers, device fingerprints, or location data are collected.

2.3 Information we do NOT collect

We do not collect:

Your real name, postal address, or government-issued identifiers.
Your phone contacts list.
Your photos, files, or any content stored on your device outside the app.
Your precise or approximate location.
Browsing history, app usage analytics, or behavioural tracking.
Advertising identifiers.
Microphone or camera recordings.

3. Where your data is stored

Your data is stored on servers operated by Supabase (https://supabase.com), located in Frankfurt, Germany (European Union). Supabase is a third-party infrastructure provider acting as a data processor on behalf of the data controller.

All data transmission between the app and the storage servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.

4. How we use your data

Your data is used solely for the operation of the app:

To display your events, catalog, and shopping lists across app sessions.
To compose supplier messages from your stored data when you choose to send them.
To synchronise your data between any devices where you may install the app under the same anonymous user identifier.

We do not use your data for:

Advertising or marketing.
Profiling, analytics, or behavioural research.
Selling, renting, or sharing with third parties for any commercial purpose.
Training machine learning models.

We do not share your data with any third party, except:

Supabase, as the infrastructure provider that hosts the database. Supabase is contractually bound to handle your data only on our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.
Legal obligations: if required by a valid legal order (court order, law enforcement request) under applicable EU and Spanish law.

When you choose to send a supplier message through the app, the content of that message is composed on your device and sent through your chosen channel (WhatsApp, SMS, email, share sheet, etc.). At that point, the message and its recipient are subject to the privacy policies of the messaging service you use. We do not retain copies of sent messages beyond the snapshot stored within the app for your own reference.

If you are located in the European Union, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

Right of access: to know what personal data we hold about you.
Right of rectification: to correct inaccurate data.
Right of erasure (“right to be forgotten”): to request the deletion of all your data.
Right to data portability: to receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
Right to object: to object to the processing of your data.
Right to lodge a complaint: with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, www.aepd.es) or your local supervisory authority.

Because Entertain creates an anonymous account by default, we may need additional information from you to identify your data when you exercise these rights (for example, the anonymous user identifier visible in the app’s settings, if available).

7. Data retention

Your data is retained as long as you continue to use the app. If you request deletion, all your data will be permanently removed from our storage within 30 days of the request.

We have no offline backup retention policy beyond the operational backups maintained by Supabase for service continuity (typically retained for a short period and used only for disaster recovery).

7.1 Account and data deletion

8. Children’s privacy

Entertain is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe that a child under 13 has used the app, please contact us so we can delete the associated data.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS).
Storage on a reputable infrastructure provider (Supabase) located in the European Union.
No collection of unnecessary personal data, minimising the impact of any potential security incident.

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but will notify affected users in the event of a known data breach as required by the GDPR.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will:

Update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
For material changes, notify users through the app or through another reasonable means.
